MMBA Yankee Springs Time Trials |
 Standing there in warm sunshine, in the midst of 100s of mountain bikes roaming up and down team row, Jay and I felt somehow out of place on two legs. Of course there was a solution! We just borrowed a couple of sweet new 2008 rides from the Trek demo tent and went for a ride!
It was a beautiful day at the Deep Lake Trailhead for the 2008 Yankee Springs time trial. Many of our TMI friends took part in the race, and we met a bunch of new friends in the process.
The race went very well. There were a few glitches along the way of course, being that the organizers are human. Some confusion ensued with jumbled start times, and the less experienced riders were thrown off course when the race managers decided to run the route backwards! But all the confusion and surprises aside, I think the race came off without a hitch and a great time was had by all. The race results |

 The snow never came, and the sun came out and warmed up the first annual GRBMX Charity Cross race about 2:00PM. It was a great day. A bit muddy, but that just makes for a great race right? The day started out with a Cyclocross race that I missed. According to GRBMX, there were about 25-30 riders in the Mountain Bike race, and then came the BMX kids! |

 This past Sunday, The Motion Initiative took 7 of our kids out to the Deep Lake Trailhead at Yankee Springs to help MMBA ready the trail for the season. It was crisp and chilly at the shop when we met at 7:30 AM. We rounded up the kids, loaded up the trailer, and hit the road. We arrived at the trailhead around 9:00 AM and got the "circle of death" speech to get us ready for a day cleaning up the trail. |

 We have been invited to participate in the Maranda Park Parties this year! We are very excited to be involved in this wonderful event that impacts and benefits multitudes of kids in the Western Michigan area. We are looking for volunteers to help at the Park Parties at the TMI booth. |
